Description of Role

The Role

The main functions of this role are to assume full responsibility for the management of Circle's Network financial resources.  The job holder will also work closely with other senior managers in supporting the organisation's strategic growth.

Within this role you will both formulate the organisation's financial strategy and and ensure its implementation; along with ensuring that accounting records are maintained on a computerised accounting system, whilst taking particular care of the appropriate segregation of duties.  You will also prepare monthly management reports and provide advice or commentary as necessary and report to the Finance Sub-Committee and the Board of Trustees on organisational finances.

Additionally you will ensure that the timely and accurate financial reporting and income collection requirements to the funding bodies are met, and manage the preparation, compilation and audit of the annual statutory accounts.  You will also assist in the writing of bids and proposals for new work, by estimating the resources required and creating relevant budgets.

You will also assist the Human Resources Department in ensuring a timely and accurate monthly payroll and other support functions as appropriate.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will hold a CCAB accountancy qualification or equivalent, along with post-qualification experience, preferably working in a senior management role. With outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to relate to diverse groups of people, you will have experience in and ability to produce high quality management reports and using computerised financial packages, preferably Sage.

In addition you will have experience of managing staff and be proficient in using IT applications, especially MS Excel.

Ideally you will hold an advanced business degree or equivalent and have experience in a senior management role.  Expertise in legal matters and knowledge of charities SORP would also be beneficial to the role, as would experience of charity financial management and personal or family experience of disability.

You may have experience of the following: Financial Management, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, Charity, Third Sector, Qualified Accountant, Reporting, Sage, Accounting, CCAB, etc.
