Life Story: Liam's Story

We continue to celebrate Liam's journey as he goes from strength to strength.  Over four years ago Liam joined us for three days a week at Atherstone Community Day Service. During this time Liam achieved a number of IT qualifications, moved into his own flat and become an active volunteer with New Ideas. He decided that he no longer needed the support of day services and indeed became a volunteer supporting people he has known for a number of years.

Liam is now working with the Warwickshire Partnership Board to produce a DVD to assist Doctors to communicate better with people experiencing learning differences, he is also a member of the Planning Committee of the Learning Disability County Forum. Liam constantly strives to improve, in his words, “his social skills" which must be working as he now has a very charming girlfriend and life is “looking good”.
